The Cameron ISD school board meeting took place on June 23 at the Administrative Auditorium. This was a quick and special meeting, as it mostly pertained to the hiring of the new Cameron ISD superintendent. The new superintendent is Dr. Mistie Dakroub. After a declaration of Quorum and public testimony, the board went into a closed session. Up next, the board discussed employment of professional personnel, specifically a campus administrator.
Friday June 6, former Cameron Yoe High School cross country coach Dale Keen was elected into the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas Hall of Fame. Keen first started cross country during his high school years. He was on the wrestling team and his coach, James Weitzel suggested he try giving cross country a chance.
