Memorial planned for Officer Clouse

The city of Cameron had their city council meeting on Monday May 5. Mayor Nathan Fuchs led the meeting. The meeting was brief, with a light agenda. Police Chief Carlton Scott spoke during citizens’ comments to announce a memorial dedication for fallen officer Sgt. Joshua Clouse, who was killed in the line of duty in 2023. The event will take place Saturday, May 17, at 8 a.m. at the Cameron Police Department.

YOEMEN GOLF STATE RUNNER-UP

The Cameron Yoe boys golf team competed in the state tournament on May 5-6 in Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin. The Yoemen played phenomenal as they finished as the state runner-up. Here are the results: Brody White: 82 on day 1 and 73 on day 2 for a total of 155 Hayden Bailey: 71 on day 1 and 75 on day 2 for a total of 146 (finished 5th place individually) Cade Patterson: 81 on day 1 and 88 on day 2 for a total of 169 Mason Kuzel: 81 on day 1 and 88 on day 2 for a total of 169 Logan Akin: 91 on day 1 and 82 on day 2 for a total of 173 The boys’ scores combined for a total of 633, which put them in a three way tie for 2nd place with Maypearl and Pottsboro.
