Memorial Day Remembrance

On Memorial Day, the VFW hosted a tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country, led by Post Commander Jerry Lorton. The VFW color guard presented the posting of the colors, followed by an invocation from Thomas Wylie.

THE CLASS OF ‘25

Friday May 23, the seniors of C.H. Yoe High School had their graduation ceremony at the Yoe High football stadium. The stadium was filled with proud parents, grandparents, and friends as they watched them receive their diplomas and throw their hats in the air along with blasts of confetti. Congratulations to these graduating seniors as they begin the next phase of their lives wherever that may take them.

City Administrator submits resignation

The Thorndale city council held a brief meeting Wednesday, May 14, with Mayor George Galbreath Jr presiding. To start the meeting, CertaPro of Northern Central Texas was awarded the contract to paint the city cemetery fence and entrance. Next, the Thorndale Senior Class of 2025 submitted a request form for a senior parade on May 22, 2025 at 6:00 pm. That request was approved. The council also approved an annual review of the City Identity Theft Policy by Resolution #2506, along with a drought contingency plan.
