Thorndale High School anglers Brady Unnasch and Colton McDonald capped off a strong season with a notable showing at the High School Fishing National Championship held on Grand Lake in Oklahoma. Competing against top teams from across the country, the pair earned an impressive 32nd-place finish.
LAVENDER GROWING PROGRAM The Little River Basin Master Gardeners, celebrating 20 years in Milam County, invite the public to a program on growing lavender with better success in Central Texas. The free seminar will be held Wednesday, July 16, at 6PM, at All Saints Episcopal Church, in Cameron, 200 North Travis Ave.
Thorndale FFA members traveled to Fort Worth last week to take part in the 97th Texas FFA State Convention. The chapter was well represented with 11 members in attendance.
On May 1, 2025 the Cameron Police Department began an investigation into the online solicitation of a 14-yearold child. Throughout the investigation, the Cameron Police Department learned that 42-year-old Christopher Pascua of Groveton, Ohio was communicating online with the victim in a sexual manner.
The Cameron Area Christian Services Thrift Store is proud to announce that we are currently in the process of expanding our food bank operations that include adding on to our existing “new” metal building. The new addition will extend to the sidewalk next to our existing building on Houston Street. It will be used to house our food bank and other food related storage and refrigeration. Customers will also use the new addition to pick up food. Due to an increase in food distribution, we have effectively out grown our original store. The new addition will reduce congestion in the original store giving customers more room to shop in the regular store, and give food customer extra space to receive food. The new metal building addition is being constructed by Mr. Murdock Dorner of Dorner Homes.
