Lady Yoe Volleyball Camp

July 17-18, Coach Kayla Young hosted a volleyball camp for current and future Lady Yoe volleyball players. The camp was also led by Yoe Alumni and Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball player, Ainsley Driska. Ainsley helped coach the ladies in various exercises such as serve receive, dealing with free balls, and 3 on 3 exhibitions. The atmosphere was fun and full of knowledge.

Milano baseball season ends in loss to Bartlett

The Milano Eagles baseball team traveled to Thrall to take on the Bartlett Bulldogs in the area round of the playoffs over the weekend of May 8-10. Milano lost the series 2-1 against Bartlett to bring their season to an end. Game 1 took place on Thursday May 8, and Milano lost to Bartlett 10-7 in a heartbreaking game that went eight innings. Bartlett was the first to get on the scoreboard in the first inning when a Milano fielding error brought in two runs to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.

YOEMEN GOLF STATE RUNNER-UP

The Cameron Yoe boys golf team competed in the state tournament on May 5-6 in Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin. The Yoemen played phenomenal as they finished as the state runner-up. Here are the results: Brody White: 82 on day 1 and 73 on day 2 for a total of 155 Hayden Bailey: 71 on day 1 and 75 on day 2 for a total of 146 (finished 5th place individually) Cade Patterson: 81 on day 1 and 88 on day 2 for a total of 169 Mason Kuzel: 81 on day 1 and 88 on day 2 for a total of 169 Logan Akin: 91 on day 1 and 82 on day 2 for a total of 173 The boys’ scores combined for a total of 633, which put them in a three way tie for 2nd place with Maypearl and Pottsboro.
