Area cross-country teams tied up their running shoes to compete in meets throughout the region this past week, with many competitors turning in top 10 times. Here are some of the results from our area teams.
Cameron Yoe’s team tennis had an outstanding match against Lago Vista, dominating the courts throughout the day. Boys doubles teams swept their matches, and in girls doubles action, Yoe won two out of three matches. Savannah Dorner and Logan Akin kept the momentum going for Yoe as they defeated Inman/Velasquez, 6-0, 6-2, in mixed doubles. All six boy’s singles matches were won by Yoe, while the team clinched the match in dominate style as the girls singles went 5-1. The Yoemen won the match 17-2 overall, and move to 3-1 in district competition. Next match will be on Wednesday against Burnet High School, in Burnet, starting at 4 p.m.
Lots of great high school football action around the area, as the 2025 season got underway. In Week 1, Buckholts, Chilton, Rosebud-Lott, and Thorndale picked up opening wins. Now it’s on to Week 2, so let’s see who’ll face who this Friday night. Check it out!
