Honoring Those Behind the Badge in the Jail
Each year during National Correctional Officers and Employees Week, communities across the country pause to recognize a group of public servants whose work is often unseen but absolutely essential to the safety and stability of our local communities. Here in Milam County, this week carries special meaning as we honor the dedicated men and women who serve as jailers and detention staff within the Milam County Sheriff’s Office.
Letter to the Editor
To Whom It May Concern, I recently read an article written in your paper in which you referenced an individual being the sole pet groomer in Cameron. I wanted to address that my wife and I have serviced Cameron and Milam County for the last twenty years as a mobile dog grooming service. We own property in the city limits of Cameron and know several residents and county members. We do not attend social events, and we do not advertise but the residents know we are here to provide quality service.
‘National Rededication’ at Little River Baptist
Little River Baptist Church in Cameron will host a “National Rededication 2026” celebration on Sunday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
