Rural Texas Must Have a Voice in Austin

Rural Texas Must Have a Voice in Austin

As we move closer to the 2027 legislative session, there are several key issues already taking shape. Next week, I will have the opportunity to sit down with the House District 17 judges, along with our State Representative, Stan Gerdes. Toy Donation Supports Development of MESH Skills

This May, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the nonprofit organization MESH Helps launched its “Play for Resilience” initiative to bring mental health tools directly to community hubs like local libraries. We are proud to announce that the Cameron Public Library is among one of 300 libraries chosen and was donated MESH-Accredited toys and games This donation will help transform our library space into an essential space for the children of our community to develop “MESH” skills -Mental, Emotional, and Social Health skills needed to navigate life’s challenges. This partnership allows families to experience resilience-building play by having access to high quality toys from leading toy brands like Ravenburger, Mindware and Magna-Tiles. These toys will be accessible to parents and caregivers to discover practical ways to support their child’s emotional growth. By placing these resources in public libraries, MESH Helps ensure that every family has access to tools that can help mitigate anxiety and stress.
