Lady Dogs named to All-State volleyball team

Two Thorndale Lady Dog volleyball players have been named to the Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A all-state volleyball team that was announced on Friday. Junior Madison Smith was selected to the second team as an outside hitter. Senior Landry Laywell earned honorable mention at setter. Both ladies were part of a very successful year for Thorndale volleyball. The Lady Dogs, who finished the season at 27-14, advance to the UIL state volleyball tournament in the fall for the first time in program history.
