Thorndale Ex-Students Association I hope your Mother’s Day was wonderful. Nothing is better than families getting together. And, of course, all the good food. Next is May 17, Armed Forces Day when we honor all of our service people on Saturday. I think it’s always on the 3rd Saturday in May.
The Thorndale Bulldogs baseball team traveled to Navasota to take on the Danbury Panthers in the area round of the playoffs. Thorndale was swept in the series 2-0 to bring their season to an end. Game 1 took place on Thursday May 8 and the Bulldogs were shut out by Danbury 10 in five innings due to the 10 run rule being enforced. Thorndale trailed 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning when the Panthers exploded with seven runs to activate the run rule.
The Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team traveled to Columbus High School to take on the Ganado Maidens in the regional semifinals. Thorndale was swept by Ganado 2-0 to end their season. Game 1 took place on Thursday May 8 and the Lady Dogs were shut out by Ganado 12-0 in six innings due to the 10 run rule being enforced.
