MILAM COUNTY FELONY RECORDS

Under the direction of Brian Price, the Milam County District Attorney, the following felony cases were recently resolved in Judge John W. Youngblood’s 20th Judicial District Court. This was originally sent as of April 15: ANDRES ALEJANDRO BARRAGAN, 23, of Lexington, was sentenced to twelve (12) years confinement in TDCJ by Judge John W. Youngblood, at the conclusion of a sentencing hearing after Barragan previously pleaded guilty to a 2nd Degree Felony, Sexual Assault of a Child WILLIE BERNARD FREEMAN, 45, of Round Rock, was sentenced to six (6) years confinement in TDCJ after pleading “True” to a Motion to Revoke Probation for an original, 3rd Degree Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than One Gram – Drug Free Zone KELLY JAMES HASHAW, 52, of Rockdale, was sentenced to eight (8) years confinement in TDCJ after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon and was sentenced to eight (8) years confinement after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance 1-4 Grams ENRIQUE RAMOS MORA, 45, of Cameron, was sentenced to two (2) years confinement in TDCJ after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Injury to a Child JAMES PATRICK CLAYTON ASHMORE, 29, of Brazoria, was sentenced to twelve (12) months confinement in the State Jail Division of TDCJ after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle SUSAN MICHELLE MCCATHERN, 57, of Cameron, was sentenced to ten (10) years confinement in TDCJ, probated for three (3) years with standard conditions of probation and was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine and $180 restitution to DPS lab after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than One Gram CAMERON ALAN TUCKER, 34, of Cameron, was placed on four (4) years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation, including successful completion of advanced anger management and a drug assessment, along with any recommended treatment after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence with Previous Convictions ROBERT THOMAS MCADOO, JR, 31, of Rockdale, was placed on five (5) years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Attempted Burglary of Habitation BRIAN EARL SCHMITT, 48, of Fayetteville, was sentenced to ten (10) years confinement in TDCJ, probated for six (6) years with standard conditions of DWI probation including ignition interlock device and a 2-year driver’s license suspension and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More JAYCEE ANTHONY WIGGINS, 18, of Cameron, was placed on three (3) years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and restitution of $180 to DPS lab after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, lty to a State Jail Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than One Gram NICKOLAS BRAYDEN TRUJILLO, 19, of Dimebox, was placed on three (3) years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation and was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Evading Arrest/ Detention with Vehicle ALDRIEANNA CHARDE MIDDLETON, 35, of Killeen, was placed on five (5) years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation including the successful completion of Life Skills course and a $1,000 fine after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Criminally Negligent Homicide DEVANE MICHAEL JARMON, 36, of Cameron, was placed on five (5) years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation including the successful completion of Advance Anger Management and a $2,000 fine after pleading guilty to a 2nd Degree Felony, Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon ZINNIA JEANNETTE ESCALANTE, 48, of Hercules, CA, was placed on ten (10) years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation including the successful completion of Theft Aversion course and was ordered to pay $874,883.70 restitution to the victim after pleading guilty to a 1st Degree Felony, Theft of Property Greater than $300,000 GIRVIN ANTONIO GARCIA-LUGO, 19, of Fort Cavazos, was sentenced to one (1) day in the Milam County Jail after pleading guilty to a Class A Evading Arrest BRIAN ROGEL, 36, of Houston, was sentenced to five (5) years confinement in TDCJ, probated for five (5) years with standard conditions of probation and was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and $180 restitution to DPS after pleading guilty to a 2nd Degree Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance 4-400 Grams TRAVIS DESHUN STEPHENS, 42, of Cameron, was sentenced to twenty-four (24) months confinement in the State Jail Division of TDCJ, probat4ed for three (3) years with standard conditions of probation and was ordered to pay a $500 fine and $180 restitution to the DPS lab after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than One Gram TERRY LEE SLONIKER, III, 36, of Rockdale, was sentenced to twentyfour (24) months confinement in the State Jail Division of TDCJ, probated for three (3) years with standard conditions of probation and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and $180 restitution to DPS lab after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than One Gram DILLON MICHAEL WOZNIAK, 28,of Rockdale, was sentenced to ninety (90) day in the Milam County Jail after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than One Gram MICHAEL ANTHONY MONTOYA, 51, Rockdale, was sentenced to ten (10) years confinement in TDCJ, probated for four (4) years with standard conditions of DWI probation, including the successful completion of DWI intervention classes and ignition interlock device on any vehicle driven and was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More TIMBER RYAN CARRIZALES, 25, of Rockdale, was placed on three (3) years Deferred Adjudication with standard conditions of probation, including substance abuse aftercare program as condition of probation and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than 28 Grams – Drug Free Zone MARISSA ROBLES VARGAS, 41, of Cameron, was sentenced to one hundred eighty (180) days confinement in the State Jail Division of TDCJ and was ordered to pay a $500 fine and $180 restitution to DPS lab after pleading guilty to a State Jail Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance Less than One Gram

Opinion: Memorial Day is no place for conspiracy theories

Monday was Memorial Day and the annual ceremony to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice was relocated to the VFW hall due to the rainstorm. The VFW and the American Legion were well represented, and the turnout was rather good considering the late minute move due to the weather, and we were honored to have the Price family with us as one of Milam County’s Iraq/Afghanistan era Gold Star families.
