City recognizes Flag Day

The City of Cameron officially recognized June 14, 2025, as National Flag Day in a proclamation signed by Mayor Nathan Fuchs. The declaration honors the patriotic contributions of KJZT Family Life societies, which have long celebrated National Flag Day through various religious, charitable, cultural and civic activities across Texas.

The fun continues at our Summer Reading Program Presenters Series. Last Monday, we welcomed local artist Pamela Neeley who introduced the children to the art of pottery. Ms. Neeley brought in some of her beautiful works of pottery to show and then walked the children through the process of making their very own air-dry clay pinch pot.

From Protest to Survival

The streets of California are filled with protests again - and the tension is felt in Texas too. Thousands of people in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Diego are taking to the streets to protest immigration pressure and deportations. But this wave of unrest is not limited to California. In Texas, where immigrant communities are deeply connected to the life and culture of the state, every new raid or order echoes in nearby states. This is no longer just about California - it is about the entire Southwest.
