The first (and hopefully last) special session of the 89th Texas Legislature gets underway this week, and the gloves are off when it comes to continuing the attacks that limit the abilities that Rural Texas counties have on protecting our citizenry from unscrupulous developers and unrepentant urban counties. As if there was not enough damage done to rural Texas in the 140 days of the general session, the leaders of our state decided to hold a special session and allow for a continued hammering of rural Texas.
