Widner receives scholarship

On Jan. 15, The Annual Blackland Income Growth Scholarship Luncheon was held in Waco.

Twelve students were honored with scholarships from the BIG. Among those 12 was Scott Widner, Milam County 4-H member from Thorndale 4-H Club. Scott Widner is incredibly thankful for the opportunities 4-H has provided. Scott competes in 4-H events such as consumer decision making, healthy lifestyles, Ag Product ID, and educational presentations. He is currently serving as a District 8 Vice President and was awarded the Gold Star Award in 2018. He plans to combine his two passions by majoring in Agribusiness and minoring in Computer Information Security.

He plans to attend Texas A&M or Tarleton State University in the fall. Scott attends Thorndale High School and is the son of Kevin and Cindy Widner. Congratulations Scott Widner on receiving the BIG Scholarship. For information about any 4-H related activity, please go to the www.Join4-h.com or www.facebook.com/milamcountyfourH
