Yoe High band students advance to State Solo and Ensemble Contest

Yoe High Band members participated in the Solo and Ensemble Competition at Temple College a few weeks ago. A total of 37 students competed. 30 earned a Division I and 19 advanced to State. Those receiving an excellent rating were: Trumpet Quartet consisting of De’Onte Pittman, Jeni Schoppe, Jule Preiser, and Jaden Smith. Flute Trio consisting of Dacey Cehand, Haley Husher, and Adamari Maldanado. Those receiving a Superior Rating were: Tuba Solo by Anthony Oviedo Clarinet Solo by Sarai Leon Flute Solo by Stephanie Sanchez Clarinet Solo by Ny’ely Yglecias Clarinet Solo by Krystian Murray Flute Trio consisting of Mireya Vargas, Kaylee Carmona, and Courtey Ortiz Flute Trio consisting of Halle Berry, Maeghan McLerran-Hillard, and Kylee Hundle Those receiving a Superior Rating and Advancement to the State Solo and Ensemble Contest were: Brass Quintet consisting of Sean Winfrey, John Martinez, Blake Cole, Emily Herrera, and Emmanuel Arreola Clarinet Quartet consisting of Rebecca Kostroun, Caitlon McLerran-Hillard, Kristal Lara, and Brianna Stringer Clarinet Trio consisting of Yesica Merino-Mora, Daniela Bustamante, and Eliza Garcia Clarinet Trio consisting of Adriana Rios, Eliana Orozco, and Rosa Valles Saxophone Quartet consisting of Patrick Cole, Devian Perez, Miguel Ortega, and Olivia Husher
