Bulldogs get road win

The No. 19 Thorndale Bulldogs (16-6, 4-0) had to come from behind to get the 54-39 road win over District 25-2A opponent Mumford on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs trailed 13-10 after the first quarter and 22-21 at halftime. Thorndale took a 34-32 lead into the final quarter and then shut down the Mustangs in the fourth period, outscoring them 20-7. Sam Reaves led all scorers with 29 points, followed by Michael Herzog with 10. Kolby Neumeyer laid up seven points, with Evan Ivy recording five and Ty Kovar adding three. Thorndale defeated another district opponent Granger on Friday at Bulldog Gym. They defeated the Lions 84-41 in a contest where Thorndale was up 44-26 by halftime. They outscored Granger 40-15 in the second half. Reaves put up an impressive 37 points on the night. Ivy and Neumeyer also scored in double figures with 18 and 10 points, respectively. Herzog landed seven points and Logan Davis added five. Jagger Rubio had three points, Chance Betak two, with MKai Mitchell and Kovar recording one apiece. Thorndale will host Milam County neighbor Milano on Friday and No. 14 Hearne on Tuesday, both at Bulldog Gym.
