THELMA SMITH TERRY

Thelma Smith Terry, 101, of Cameron, died Sunday, September 14, 2025 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, September 19, 2025 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Family visitation will be 5-7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral Home.

Mrs. Terry was born July 29, 1924 in Indiana to Charles Alexander and Anna Mae (Masterson) Smith. She married Julian W. Terry of Cameron in 1943 while he was stationed in Indiana during WWII and moved to Cameron where she spent the rest of her life. She and her husband had four children, Joyce Vogelsang, Carole Wolkowicz, Steve Terry and an infant son John who died at an early age. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julian, son Steve, and daughter Carole.

Mrs. Terry is survived by, Joyce Vogelsang, Steve’s stepson, John Warschak, 4 grandchildren, Jeff Vogelsang, Brandon Vogelsang, David Vogelsang and Michael Wolkowicz, 6 great grandchildren and a brother Jim Simth.

Thelma was a very giving person. If she had two of something she would always give one to someone else in need.
