JOHNNIE LELAND RUBAC
Johnnie Leland Rubac, Sr., 86, of Cameron passed away peacefully, surrounded with family by his side on Friday, September 26 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, October 4 at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery near Buckholts. Visitation will be 5-7:00 pm Friday, October 3 at the funeral home.
Mr. Rubac was born March 11, 1939 in Buckholts to Frank and Ludmilla Rubac. He graduated from CH Yoe High in 1957. He was a U.S. Airforce veteran. He married Joyce Carolyn Halpain and she preceded him in death in 2019. He had worked as a painter and retired from Alcoa, in the maintenance department, after more than 32 years of service. He was a member of the Buckholts Brethren Church. He was also preceded in death by his son, Johnnie Rubac, Jr. and by four brothers. He is survived by: Son Carl Rubac & wife Anna of Cameron, Daughter Margaret Reigher & husband Frederick of Cape Carteret, NC, Brother Lynwood Rubac & wife Sue of Temple, Sisters Lillian Haisler of Buckholts, Bobbie Williams of Garrison, TX, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
