Adoption Day, Fundraiser Set for April 11

A day of family fun, friendly competition and a chance to help animals in need is planned for Saturday, April 11, during an adoption day and fundraiser hosted by Savana’s Dog Grooming.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the backyard of The Beer Market, 101 S. Fannin Ave.

Admission is $10 and includes one free raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets will be available for $5. Organizers say all proceeds will be split among partnering establishments.

The event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including cornhole and washer tournaments, a pie toss with community volunteers and a cake auction. Cornhole competition begins at 3 p.m., followed by the washer competition at 4 p.m. The pie toss is set for 5 p.m., and raffle winners will be announced at 6 p.m.

Adoptable dogs will be on-site throughout the day, giving attendees the opportunity to meet and potentially bring home a new pet.

Additional activities include a “stuffy” adoption for $10, as well as nail trims for dogs. Pet owners can receive a nail trim for $10 or donate a bag of dog food weighing at least 8 ounces.

Organizers encourage residents to bring their families — and their furry friends — to enjoy the day while supporting a good cause.
