Milam County Voters Cast Ballots in 2026 Primary Elections
Voters across Milam County went to the polls Tuesday for the 2026 Democratic and Republican primary elections, selecting their party nominees for federal, state and local offices. The following results are unofficial, as reported by the Milam County Elections Office.
In local contested elections, James Denman won the Republican nomination for County Commissioner, Precinct No. 2, with 63.23 % of the vote. Rebecca Luckey won the Republican County Chair with 70.19% of the vote, Braden Wallis won the Precinct 318 Republican Chair with 63.72% of the vote, and Chad Richter won the Precinct 420 Republican Chair with 81.50% of the vote.
Voter Turnout
According to unofficial figures, 3,545 voters participated in the Republican primary and 1,029 voted in the Democratic primary, for a combined total of 4,574 ballots cast in Milam County.
Milam County has 17,179 registered voters, resulting in an overall turnout of approximately 26.63%.
Of those ballots, 2,720 were cast during early voting and 1,854 were cast on Election Day.
All results remain unofficial until canvassed.
