BARBARA ANN JAMISON MARCH 20, 1936 - JAN. 1, 2026
Barbara Ann Jamison, 89, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on Jan. 1, 2026, in Rockport, Texas. She was born March 20, 1936, in Van, Texas, to Robert Jarrett Crawley and Jewel Martin Crawley.
In her later years, Barbara made her home in Rockport near her daughter. She previously lived in Jones Prairie, Angleton and Freeport, Texas. On Sept. 15, 1956, she married the love of her life, Elbert Hope Jamison Jr., in Freeport. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family and hard work.
Barbara retired as a secretary from Dow Chemical Co. after many years of dedicated service. She was a woman of many simple joys. She loved gardening and was a proud member of the Cameron, Texas, Garden Club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed games with friends and cherished time with her grandchildren. Her home was always welcoming and known for her generous hospitality and delicious home-cooked meals. Occasionally, she could be found bottle-feeding an orphaned calf. Barbara was a faithful member of Little River Baptist Church and, more recently, First Baptist Church in Rockport. Her faith quietly guided her life and actions. She was known for her friendly spirit, gentle kindness and remarkable ability to face life without complaint, always offering a smile and a warm word to those around her.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Jamison and his wife, Beth, of Fort Worth, and Kay Jamison of Rockport; her grandchildren, Jarrett Jamison and his wife, Daria; Hope Jamison; Jeri Aransas Blaha; Nick Johnson; Samilyn Hughes; and Michael Johnson; and her cherished great-grandchild, Olive Hughes.
A viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Little River Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Little River Cemetery.
Barbara Ann Jamison leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
