The Christine Holcombe Memorial scholarship fund has awarded 14 Milam County college students a total of $11,300 in scholarships. The collegiate scholarship fund was established in honor of longtime Milam County extension agent Christine Holcombe, who lost her battle with cancer in 2013.

Thorndale High School’s Class of 1995 is gearing up for a major milestone: its 30-year reunion. Alumni will gather on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at the Hot Rod Garage in downtown Thorndale to celebrate three decades since their graduation. The event kicks off at 4 p.m.
