For assistance getting your donations to the fire department building, or if you need items picked up, please contact Ted Hubert at (512) 455-3635, Jesse Love at (512) 455-7915 or Travis Yoakum at (512) 446-5110. A benefit ride is being organized for Gause resident and Milano graduate Dendy Brown for March 30 at Nat’s in Milano. Deadline to order T-shirts for the event is Feb. 28. In September 2018, Dendy was critically injured in an auto accident on the job and required multiple surgeries and transfusions as part of his medical treatment. He currently has to travel to Temple three times a week for wound care of his injuries. The fundraiser will include a motorcycle ride, with trikes, cars and trucks welcomed also, with ride fees of $20 per rider or $25 with a passenger. T-shirts are available by pre-order for $20 each. Sponsorships spots on the shirts are also still available. Contact Tammy Neal at tamitammy@yahoo.com or (979) 571-5930. Donations are also being accepted for the meal, live and silent auctions, as well as the event as a whole. The eighth annual Knight Scholarship volleyball tournament fundraiser is scheduled for March 23 at Milano High School. Things will get underway at 10 a.m. with registration and team photos at 10:30 a.m. Games will begin at 11 a.m. Forms must be turned in by March 12 if you want to be guaranteed an event T-shirt. For more information, contact Amanda Cain at acain@milanoisd.net or Mary Honeycutt at (512) 455-9333. Milano Elementary School is still collecting Box Tops for Education this school year and the deadline to get them in for this school year is quickly approaching. Those little coupons equal free money for our school and students. Let me know if you need me to swing by and pick them up, or you can send them to Milano Elementary School with your favorite student. There is also a drop off box at the Milano Post Office or the Milano elementary and high school front offices. Be sure to send me any of you or your group’s upcoming events and fundraisers, (254) 718-0133 or m_lagrone@yahoo.com.
