Yoemen to face familiar foes after UIL redistricting

The Yoemen will remain in a district with familiar faces next season in football, volleyball and basketball.

Starting next year for the 2024-2025 season, the Cameron Yoemen and Lady Yoe sports team will be having a new set of district opponents.

As of now, the UIL has posted the new district reclassification and realignment for football, basketball, and volleyball.

Cameron will not switch conferences and will remain in 3A.

First up, the Cameron football team. The Yoemen will remain in 3A Division 1, and they will stay in Region 3 District 11. The Yoemen will lose Lorena to 4A and will have five opponents and all of them will be the same: Little River Academy, McGregor, Rockdale, Franklin, and Troy.

Up next is the volleyball team. The Lady Yoe will not be moving anywhere as they will remain in Region 3 District 19. They will have many familiar opponents: Lexington, Little River Academy, Rogers, and Rockdale. They will be losing Lorena to 4A and in their place they are getting two new teams: Franklin and Thrall (who is being bumped up from 2A) while losing McGregor and Troy.

Last there is the basketball teams. Like the volleyball team, the Yoemen and Lady Yoe will not be switching regions or districts. They will remain in Region 3 District 19. They will also have many familiar opponents in Lexington, Little River Academy, Rogers, and Rockdale. Also like the volleyball team, they will also be losing Lorena to 4A and in their place they are getting two new teams. Those new opponents will be Franklin and Thrall while losing McGregor and Troy.

All of these changes will remain from 2024-2026.
