Yoe, Lady Yoe golf teams headed to regionals

The Yoemen and Lady Yoe golf teams are both headed for regionals after strong showings at the District 20-3A Tournament on March 29 and April 5.

The Yoemen ended the two-day tournament in first place with a team total of 785.

Kaden Kuzel was first place in district with a two-day score of 171. Dillan Akin was in fourth with a score of 191. Landen Greene was in seventh with a score of 200. Tate Stroud scored 223 to round out the team headed to regionals. Colby Green scored 253 and Mason Leifeste scored 270.

Rockdale came is second with a team score of 834 and will also head to regionals.

Sam Waldrip of Caldwell was in second place with a score of 177 and will head to regionals as an individual. Brayden Burns of Rockdale was in third place with a score of 185.

Myles Miller of Lexington will also head to regionals as an individual. He finished the tournament in sixth place with a score of 200.

The Lady Yoe ended the two-day meet in second place with a score of 987. Caldwell was in first place with a score of 791.

Brinley Patterson came in fifth place with a score of 222, Lexy Stroud came in sixth with a score of 224, Taytum Moore came in ninth with a score of 266 and Corley Callahan came in 14th with a score of 275.

The top four finishers were all members of the Caldwell team – Hannah Blaha (188), Priscilla Olivarez (189), Meagan Schneider (197) and Rachel Novosad (217).

Academy’s Ryane Vela came in seventh place with a score of 240 and Lexington’s Piper Swisher came in eighth place with a score of 248, they will head on to regionals to compete as individuals from the district.
