Yoe golf teams both qualify for Regional Tournament

The Yoemen and Lady Yoe golf teams had great performances at the District Tournaments last week and both qualified for the upcoming Regional Tournament.

The Yoemen Golf team captured the District Championship following the second day of the District 19-3A Golf Tourney on Monday.

The Yoemen took a 30-shot lead into the second day and extended that to more than 100 shots after an incredible day of work.

Kaden Kuzel and Dillan Akin took Gold and Silver individually by shooting 175 and 176, respectively. Karsen Galvan wasn’t far behind with a 186 score. Landen Greene also came in under 200 with a 196 across 2 days. Also competing were Tate Stroud, Mason Leifeste, and Eli Stork.

The Lady Yoe Ggolf team made a comeback but still remained in second place to take team Silver and close out the second half of the tournament.

What started as a 31 shot deficit was trimmed to just three shots at the close of play. The ladies end up as runners-up, though Brinley Patterson took the individual Gold with a two-day card of 201.

Shawn Bernard put up a 213 score across the two-day tourney. Also taking part on the team were Corley Callahan, Kenan Mingus, Ava Magre, Taytum Moore, and Reagan Akin.
