The Lady Yoe softball team traveled to take on the Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars on Monday afternoon defeating them 8-7.

Cameron began the first inning with a double by Brooklyn McCall (6) and later stole third base. The Lady scored on an RBI single Camryn Ward (4), then she stole second base. Cameron added on with a 2 run home run blast by Kasara Brooks (9) for a 3-0 lead. The top of the first inning ended on a strikeout. Peyton Polson (18) started on the mound for Cameron in the bottom of the inning and allowed a lead off walk. That runner found her way past second and third base to score to make the score 3-1. That would be followed by two consecutive singles by Rosebud-Lott. Cameron kept them from reaching home plate as the bottom of the first inning ended on a line out.

The Lady Yoe tried to answer back in the top of the second inning but came up empty. Polson came back out to the mound and pitched a shutout second inning. McCall started the third inning with a leadoff single. That was followed with a triple by Brooks, but with great defense the Lady Cougars tagged McCall out at home.

That would be all as the top of the third inning ended on a groundout. Polson returned to the mound for the bottom of the inning and allowed a leadoff walk, then that runner stole second then third base. Polson would then hit a batter and put her on first base. The defense held strong as the bottom of the third inning ended on a groundout to the pitcher.

The Lady Yoe started the fourth inning with two consecutive walks by Delanie Evans (7) and Lindsay Talafuse (11), followed by a single by Polson. The Lady Yoe could not bring them home as the top of the fourth inning ended on a groundout. Polson came back to the mound for the bottom of the inning and gave up an infield single and a walk. She later allowed a run on a bases loaded walk for a 3-2 deficit. Rosebud-Lott would score on an infield single to tie the game at 3. It was then that LaBaron Graham made a pitching change. Sam Frausto (12) came in for Polson. Frausto Held the score at 3-3 as the bottom of the fourth inning ended on a groundout.

McCall led off the fifth inning with a walk, which was followed by a bunt single by Ward, then she stole second base. Cameron scored on an RBI groundout by Brooks to retake the lead 4-3. The Lady Yoe added another run with an RBI single by Frausto to make the score 5-3. The top of the fifth inning ended on a pop out. Frausto started the bottom of the inning on the mound allowing consecutive singles. They would give up a 2 RBI single to tie the score again at 5, which would be how the bottom of the fifth inning ended.

Lauren Harris (2) kicked off the sixth inning with a leadoff triple. The Lady Yoe scored on an RBI single by McCall to regain the lead 6-5. That would all as the top of the sixth inning ended on a groundout. Rosebud-Lott responded with an RBI double and an RBI single to take a 7-6 lead. The Lady limited the damage there as the bottom of the sixth inning ended on a pop out. The back-and-forth scoring continued as Cameron pulled off some two out magic with an RBI single by McCall to tie the game at 7, then took the lead 8-7 after Harris came home on a pitch that got past the catcher. Top of the seventh came to an end on a line out to the pitcher. The Lady Cougars tried to pull off some walk off magic of their own with runners in scoring position, but Cameron held strong and would win 8-7.
