The Lady Yoe basketball team traveled to take on the Lexington Lady Eagles on Friday, Feb. 2. Cameron fell to Lexington 55-37.

The Lady Yoe returned home on Tuesday, Feb. 6, to host the McGregor Lady Bulldogs. Cameron fell to McGregor, losing 30-23 to bring their season to an end in a low scoring defensive battle.

The Lady Yoe fell behind 3-1 early, but answered with a three pointer by Camryn Ward (22) to take a 4-3 lead. There was not much more scoring in the first quarter, and the quarter ended with Cameron ahead 8-6.

The second quarter started very slowly for both teams. The first points came at the 5-minute mark with a basket from Amani Fields (24) to make it a 10-6 lead. The Lady Yoe expanded their lead to 13-6, then McGregor came roaring back and tied the score at 13, which would be the score going into halftime.

The third quarter started just as slowly as the second quarter. Fields broke the drought at the 5 minute mark with a free throw to go back up 14-13. The Lady Bulldogs went on a scoring surge to go ahead 21-14. The Lady Yoe broke the slump with a basket by Reagan Akin (2) to make it a 21-16 deficit. That was soon followed with a three pointer by Aubree Brashear (3) to make the score 24-19. The third quarter ended with Cameron trailing 27-19 after a buzzer beating three by McGregor. Early woes continued for both teams in the fourth quarter as no team could find easy shots. Cameron ended the drought with a free throw by Kennedy Banks (10) at the 4 minute mark for a 27-20 deficit.

The Lady Yoe failed to make the score any closer and would lose 30-23.

With this loss, Cameron finishes their season with an overall record of 14-16 and a district record of 2-12.
