Lady Yoe Cross Country comes in second in Caldwell

The Lady Yoe Cross Country team claimed a runner-up finish at Caldwell on Saturday. 

Freshman Yierra Flemings won for the fourth meet in a row. 

Other placings were: Logan Pevehouse in fourth, Daisy Osorio in 18th, Sally Wiggins in 33rd and Celeste Cardona in 40th.

According to Dyestat, two Lady Yoe cross country runners are both ranked in the top 5 of their classification in Texas. 

Flemings is ranked first in Texas and sophomore Logan Pevehouse is ranked fourth. Flemings is also now ranked ninth in the nation in her classification. Both have seen multiple 1-2 finishes this season. 

The boys placed fourth in Caldwell, but we were missing Joseph Munoz.

Brock Wright was the top finisher for the boys in 9th place. 

Other placings were: Brady Havens in 12th, Jonathan Clouse in 22nd;  Joshua Jochec in 30th, and Joseph Barbo in 47th.

Caldwell ISD coaches also presented longtime Yoe Cross Country coach Dale Keen with a plaque for his contributions to the sport of cross country along with a pair of running shoes. 

Keen said he was very touched by the gesture and surprised.

He has coached cross country and track for the Yoemen and Lady Yoe for 41 years.
