Lady Dogs take care of Thrall, Bremond and Milano

The Thorndale Lady Dogs Varsity easily took care of the Thrall Tigerettes on Friday 11-5. 

The Lady Dogs got things started in the first inning and took an early 3-0 lead. Karis Ginn singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs. The third run would come as Kassidy Eubanks came home from third base on a wild pitch.

The Lady Dogs scored three more runs in the fourth inning. Those runs came off of a double by Raeghan Carlson and two consecutive singles by Eubanks and Ginn. Thorndale added another three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a triple by Natalie Garcia and a double by Raeghan Carlson.

Thorndale collected 16 hits.  Karis Ginn, Kelsey Kovar, Natalie Garcia, Raeghan Carlson, Kassidy Eubanks, and Emilee Baker each collected multiple hits for Thorndale. Ginn went 4 for 5 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Karis Ginn pitched The Lady Dogs to victory. Ginn allowed six hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out five.

The Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team played a home game against the Milano Lady Eagles on Monday. The Lady Dogs nabbed the lead late in the game in a 9-7 victory over Milano. Thorndale got things started in the first inning. Kelsey Kovar tripled on a line drive to left field, scoring two runs, which was followed by an RBI single by Kassidy Eubanks.

Despite falling down by five runs in the second inning, Milano tried to fight back. The Lady Eagles scored seven runs in the failed comeback on a double in the third, a single in the third, a single in the third, a home run in the fourth, and a home run in the fourth. The game was tied at seven with Thorndale batting in the bottom of the sixth inning when an error by Milano scored two runs for Thorndale to give them a 9-7 lead to win the game. 

Thorndale racked up nine total hits on the day. Kelsey Kovar, Landri Martinka, and Natalie Garcia each had multiple hits for team.  Garcia, Martinka, and Kovar all had two hits to lead Thorndale. Karis Ginn was the winning pitcher for Thorndale. She went seven innings, allowing seven runs on ten hits and striking out 12. The Lady Dogs played again on Tuesday at Bremond to take on the Tigresses. Thorndale took care of business and shut out Bremond 6-0.
