Bulldogs defeat Weimar

The Thorndale Bulldogs football team went on the road to take on the Weimar Wildcats on Friday. The Bulldogs defeated the Wildcats 34-26. 

Weimar took the lead in the first quarter with a 26-yard touchdown run for a 6-0 lead after a missed extra point. Thorndale took the lead with a Aiden McRae 30-yard touchdown run to make the score 7-6. The Bulldogs expanded their lead to 14-6 in the second quarter with a  4-yard touchdown run from Coy Stutts. Thorndale increased their lead even more with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Stutts to Clason Beasley to make the score 21-6 going into halftime.

Thorndale continued to pull away in the third quarter with a 28-yard touchdown pass from Stutts to Beasley for a 28-6 lead. Noah Crabtree would help add on to the Bulldog lead with a 21-yard touchdown run to make it a commanding 34-6 lead after a missed extra point. The fourth quarter was all Weimar. The Wildcats scored on a 2-yard touchdown run following a missed extra point, a 14-yard touchdown pass, and a 13-yard touchdown run following a missed extra point. However that would not be enough as the Bulldogs held on strong to win 34-26. 

Coy Stutts had a terrific game, throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns, along with rushing for a touchdown as well. Noah Crabtree was terrific with 99 rushing yards and a touchdown. Jayden Clawson had another great game with six catches for 102 yards, and Clason Beasley was amazing with nine catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns. 

Up next, Thorndale will host the Holland Hornets. The game will be on Friday and kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
