Velma Opal Finto

Velma Opal Finto, 90, of Buckholts, died Friday, June 18, 2021, in a Temple hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Val Verde Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Finto, a homemaker, was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Jerusalem, Ark., to Warren Fredrick  and Cordia Mae (Macom) Sommers. She married Charlie Finto on Aug. 29, 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1984. 

She is survived by: son, Dave Finto of Buckholts; daughters, Velma Phyllis Burtchell of Temple and Patricia Dodd of Rockdale; brother, Ben Sommers of Arkansas; sisters, Lorene Hannel of Missouri, Rose Wallace of Arkansas, and Helen Greer of Kansas; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
