Robert Maler

Robert Maler, 84, of Cameron died Friday, June 4, 2021, in a Temple hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Oak Hill Cemetery Pavilion in Cameron with Rev. Geoff Lightsey officiating.

Mr. Maler, retired owner and operator of Maler’s Discount Center in Cameron, was born Oct. 4, 1936, in Sealy, to George and Frances (Krupala) Maler. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cameron. 

His wife Ann Maler preceded him in death in 2010.

He is survived by: son, Richard Gaskey of Azle; daughter, Melissa Shelton of Cameron; sisters, Mildred of Nacogdoches, Dorothy of St. Helens, Oregon, and Betty of Sealy; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
