Reyes “Gracie” Mendoza

Reyes “Gracie” Mendoza, 90, of Cameron, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, in a Temple hospital. 

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 25, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Evangelist Timothy Titsworth officiating. Burial was in the Hernandez Cemetery. Family visitation was held Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mendoza, a homemaker, was born Feb. 7, 1929 in Georgetown. She married Manuel Mendoza on Nov. 20, 1954, and he preceded her in death in 2012.

Her son, Manuel Mendoza Jr., also preceded her in death. 

She is survived by: sons, Ricky Mendoza of Temple, Joe Mendoza of Pettibone, and Edie Mendoza of Temple; daughters, Sally Folz of Temple, and Stella Melton of Aubry; daughter-in-law, Millie Mendoza of Cameron; half-brother, Larry Torres of Temple; sister-in-law, Doris Lange of Holland; 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
