Rosary for Mr. Kunz will be held Monday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m., at the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home.  After the rosary, a visitation will be held at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service at St. Monica’s Cemetery.

Born Feb. 6, 1928, to August George Sr. and Antonia (Polzer) Kunz, Pete was a lifelong resident of Cameron. He was a 1948 graduate of C. H. Yoe High School. The only time he was away from Cameron was when he attended Blinn College where he played football and baseball. He was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church his entire 92 years, where he was an usher for over 50 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 12602, where he was a past Grand Knight. Pete served in the Texas National Guard for 22 years. He was a metal furnace operator, retiring from Alcoa in 1990, after 36 years of service.

Pete married the love of his life Vivian Carleton on June 13, 1953. Together they made their home in Cameron where they raised three girls. Pete loved his family very much and they were his pride and joy. He spent many hours fishing and doing activities with his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved to tease them all and had special nick names for each one of them. He was greatly loved in return by his family and many friends. Pete was a great and gentle man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Kunz; his children, Cindy Lafferty and husband Dale, Loretta Walthall, and Brenda Patterson and husband Bob, all of Cameron. Also surviving is one brother, Paul Kunz and wife Helen of Bryan. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jimmy, August Jr. and Charles Kunz; and one granddaughter, Sarah Patterson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron. Condolences for the family may be left at www.green-pattersonfuneralhome.com.
