Martha Mary (Vasicek) Tomek

Martha Mary (Vasicek) Tomek, age 96 of Cameron, entered Eternal Life on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, peacefully at home. 

She was born on June 29, 1925, in Bell County. Martha was the daughter of Frank and Rosalie (Sodek) Vasicek. Martha was a loving, hardworking mother and wife.  Martha was a faithful member Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak for 66 years. Martha was a member of KJZT and St. Anne’s Altar Society.

Martha married Clem Tomek on May 17, 1955, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple. They were married for 66 years. 

She is survived by her husband, Clem Tomek of Cameron; and children - son, Duane Tomek and wife Susan of Leander; daughter, Beatrice Williams and husband Doug of Rockdale; son, Raymond Tomek of Cameron; son, Melvin Tomek and wife Melissa of Round Rock. She is also survived by granddaughter, Alicia Huppe and husband Matt of McKinney; grandson, Jacques Williams of Cedar Park; and grandson, Thomas Koederitz and wife Jenny of Jonestown; great-grandchildren – Juliana Huppe, Wade Koederitz,  Wyatt Koederitz and William Koederitz.

She is also survived by her siblings, Dorothy Drozd of Temple, Helen Roberts of Farmers Branch, Rudolph Vasicek and wife LaDell of Cedar Hill, Margaret Sehon and husband Richard of Robinson, Johnny Vasicek and wife Rachael of Austin, Leonard Vasicek of Rogers, and Caroline Cottle and husband Milton of Moody; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Marak. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the church with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. Friday.  Burial will follow in the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery following the Mass.
