Margie Bartek Vaculin

Margie Bartek Vaculin, 92, of Cameron died Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, in a Cameron nursing and rehabilitation facility. 

Graveside funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at St. Monica’s Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vaculin, a homemaker, was born Sept. 30, 1927, in the Marak Community of Milam County to Joseph F. and Julia Pustejovsky Bartek. She married Joe J. Vaculin Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1993.

Mrs. Vaculin had also worked as Secretary/ Treasurer for RVOS and had worked for Avon and Culpepper’s for many years.  She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church where she was also in the St. Monica’s Ladies Society, a member of KJZT, KJT and RVOS. 

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Viola Sevcik, Cornelia Tomek and JoAnn Zarosky. 

She is survived by her son, Joe Vaculin and wife Sandra of Cameron; daughter, Julie McLerran and husband Wayne of Pflugerville; six grandchildren, Brandon Vaculin and wife Choya, Jeremy Vaculin and wife Melissa, Laurie Snyder and husband Paul, Ashley Aguirre and husband Jason, Tina LeBlanc and husband Paul, and Jason McLerran and wife Darla;12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Laddie Vaculin and wife Edith; and sister-in-law, Joyce Vaculin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
