Johnny Edward Kacer 

Johnny Edward Kacer, 79, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 7, at Burleson St. Joseph’s Manor.  

Mass of a Christian Burial will be recited on Monday, Jan. 11, at 1 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Father Melvin Dornak will officiate over services.  Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 10, from 4- 6 p.m. at the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home. Rosary was at 6 p.m.  

Johnny was born in Frenstat on Nov. 8, 1941, to parents John V. and Adella (Hyzak) Kacer.  He was a faithful member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Johnny enjoyed working his cattle and being outside at his ranch.  He had a very large garden that he spent time in and produced a variety of vegetables.  He always had his special friend “Red” his dog with him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Kacer and Adella (Hyzak) Kacer; and a brother, Albert Kacer.

John is survived by brothers, Marvin Kacer and wife Martha, and Jerry Kacer Sr. and Frances; a sister, Mary Eimann Tindall and husband Priestley; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers will be James Pieper, Laramie Pieper, Lisa Kacer Pieper, Leslie Kacer, Mark Kacer and Bernard Hyzak. 

The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at Burleson St. Joseph’s Manor, Copperas Hollow Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and to the Tradition’s Hospice staff.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 8610 FM 2774, Caldwell, TX 77836 or the charity of one’s choice.
