John Willis Dill

John Willis Dill, 90, of Cameron died Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, at his home.   Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.

Mr. Dill was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Ocilla, Ga., to John Joseph and Narcissus (Paulk) Dill, the youngest of two children. He graduated from Ocilla High School in 1946 and then earned his BS Degree in Industrial Arts at Berry College in 1951. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. 

In 1954 he married Anita Elizabeth (Betty) Scott and together they raised four children, Scott, Suzanne, Nancy and Stephanie.

After Betty’s death, he married Clara Jetonne Hardgrave in 1986 and lived in Austin and later in Victoria. After Jetonne’s death, he met and married Linda Jean Gallahan in April of 2016 and lived in Cameron. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; first two wives; and by sister, Mary Patrick and her husband Jesse Lee Goodman. 

He is survived by: wife, Linda Dill of Cameron; children, Scott Dill and wife Teresa of Midland, Mich., Suzanne Sellers and husband Richard of Waco, Nancy Alderman and husband Stuart of Austin, and Stephanie Fugina and husband Matt of Frisco; step-sons, Franklin McQueen of Cameron and Joseph McQueen of Cameron; 11 grandchildren: Aaron Dill and wife Salma, Lydia and husband Michael Steel, Elizabeth Taft and husband Nathan, Phillip and wife Elaine, Jonathan Sellers and wife Amanda, Bethany Sellers, Benjamin Sheppard and wife Kathryn, Kelly Sheppard, Zachary Fugina, Austin Fugina, and Abigail Fugina; two step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
