James H. “Jim” Delony

James H. “Jim” Delony, 63, of New Braunfels and formerly of Cameron, died May 16, 2019, at his home. 

He was born on March 31, 1956, in Bryan, to John H. and LaVern Delony. He married Melodie Slagle of Taylor, and together they had a son, Jared H. Delony.  After graduating from TSTC and Sam Houston State University, Jim worked for R.B. Butler Co., Texas Department of Transportation, Panel Specialists and Lehigh-Hanson.  He was a licensed irrigator and co-owned a lawn irrigation company.

Jim is survived by his son, Jared of McKinney; his brother, David Delony and wife Karen of Cypress; his sisters, Melissa Williams and husband Tommy of Cameron, and Laura Horn and husband Kerry of Cleburne; step-brothers, Mark Humble of Cameron, and Monty Humble and wife Lucy of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Donald G. Humble.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.
