Helen Marie Burnett

Helen Marie Burnett, 86, of Georgetown and formerly of Cameron, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, in a Georgetown hospital. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Dimitrij Colankin officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Burnett was born Sept. 18, 1934, in Caldwell to Pete and Otilia (Houdek) Vavra. She married Truett Burnett and he preceded her in death. She worked for Hornung Hatchery for many years. She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church. 

She was also preceded in death by a son, James Burnett. 

She is survived by: son, Carl Burnett of Cameron; sisters, Tela Henna of Austin and Frances Brooks of Taylor; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
