Hazel Annette Butler Thompson

Hazel Annette Butler Thompson, 84, passed away on Dec. 21, 2021, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.  

She was born on March 11, 1937, to Herbert A. Butler and Louise Myers Butler in Cameron.  At age 9, she joined First Baptist Church in Sebastian.  She attended school in Sebastian and Lyford before graduating from Yoe High School in Cameron in 1955.  Hazel married Don Thompson in 1979.  After many years of hard work, she retired from Harris County Federal Credit Union in 2012.  

Hazel impacted the lives of many through years of mission work in far flung corners of the world, including New and Old Mexico, Brazil, Poland, Israel, and South Africa.  She enjoyed vacations with her son and grandchildren.  Hazel loved teaching Sunday School and singing in the church choir. 

She was predeceased by her mother, father, sister Loraine McGregor, and infant brother.  

She is survived by her husband; son, Michael Robison and his wife Donna; granddaughters, Ashton and Jillian Robison; sister, Betty L. Sodek;  sister-in-law, Lillie Ann Jekel Butler; nephew, Charles W. McGregor and wife Viva; and nephew, David. D. Butler and wife Susan.
