Ernest Franklin Jr.

Ernest Franklin Jr., 74, of Cameron, died Sunday, June 21, 2020, at his home.  Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will be at a later date.

Mr. Franklin was born Oct. 11, 1945, in Haskell, to Ernest and Elizabeth (Adams) Franklin. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Patricia Allen in August 2002. After his service in the Navy, he worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a member Jerusalem Baptist Church. 

Mr. Franklin was preceded in death by two sisters, Ernestine Burleson and Barbara Franklin and by two brothers, David Franklin and Terry Franklin. 

He is survived by: wife, Patricia Franklin of Cameron; sons, Erick Martin of Fort Worth, Marcus Franklin of Houston, Terrell Franklin of Fort Worth, and Benjamin Franklin of Fort Worth; daughters, Christy Newman of Dallas, Sandra Lynn Franklin of Fort Worth, Brittney Franklin of Fort Worth, and Stephanie Franklin of Fort Worth; brothers, Wallace Charles Franklin of Fort Worth, Ray Franklin of Houston and Donnie Franklin of Houston; sisters, Pearline Allen of Fort Worth, Sandra Franklin of Houston, Irene Franklin of Houston, and Cathy Franklin of Houston; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws; and special cousins, Bonita Taylor, Glenda Franklin, and Ruby Lewis AKA "Mama Ruby.”
