Dorothy Lee (Posival) Roschetzky

Dorothy Lee (Posival) Roschetzky, age 87, of Temple and formerly of Cameron, passed away Aug. 28 in a Temple nursing facility.

Mrs. Roschetzky was born, June 10, 1933, in Milam County to Frank and Mary (Hundl) Posival.  She graduated from Milano High School where she played basketball.  She married Willie Roschetzky in March 1952 and was famous for the donuts she made for the basketball tournament in Milano for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, cooking, watching “her little birds” and her Dallas Cowboys. 

Mrs. Roschetzky worked as a nurse’s aide in Cameron and Temple for many years. She was a cancer survivor and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1820.

She is survived by three children, Mary Wysong of Moody, Willie Roschetzky Jr. and wife Tamatha of Burleson, and Gladys Gavranovic and husband Daniel of Boling; sisters, Genevie Posival of Dallas, and Adeline Mueck of Temple; brother, Edwin Posival of Rusk; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or charity of donor’s choice.
