Clydell M. Seaton

Clydell M Seaton was a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  

She passed away on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at 81 years old with family by her side.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral home. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery near Hanover. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clydell was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Cameron to Clyde and Ellen (Woods) McCulloch. And after her mother’s early death, she was also raised by her stepmother Aliene Hutto McCulloch. She graduated from Galena Park High School in 1957 and went on to get a degree in business education. Clydell worked for the Cameron Herald for 50 years and retired in 2020. She also worked with her long- time friend Mary Jo Hux cleaning business offices. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron. She is survived by: her sister, Ann Brewer of Houston; her three children, Damon Seaton and wife Susan of Bryan, Karen Barrett and husband Billy of Temple, and Clyde Seaton of Cameron; her grandchildren, Heather Ward and husband George, Bobby Seaton, Billy Ray Barrett II and wife Sarah, Lindsey Tatum and husband Tatum, Nikki Seaton, and Mandi Williamson and husband Jason; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, step-mother and sister Gloria Fuessel and husband Don.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
