Charles Louis Salazar 

Charles Louis Salazar, 66, of Cameron, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at his home.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Hernandez Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Charles was born February 23, 1955 in Cameron to Miguel and Maria De Los Santos Salazar. He married Rachel Lopez on June 10, 1978 and was a member of Iglesia Bautista Tierra Santa (Holy Ground Baptist Church) in Cameron.  Charles had worked as a porter for P. J. Armstrong. 

He was preceded by brothers, Frank, John and Moses Salazar; and by a sister, Paula Martinez.  

He is survived by: wife, Rachel Salazar of Cameron; daughter, Roxie Salazar Cerecerez and husband Jesus of Cameron; three sisters, Carolyn Cortez of Rockdale, Mary Ruth Martinez of Temple, and Josephine Sanchez of Temple; and two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Rebecca Cerecerez of Cameron.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
