AUSTIN – The Texas Health and Human Services Commission reminds Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients that they can no longer buy candy or sweetened drinks with their Lone Star Cards in Texas starting April 1, 2026.

Several Milam County 4-H members and their families recently participated in 4-H Night at Space Center Houston, where they experienced an evening full of hands-on learning and exploration focused on space science and technology.

Now until Tuesday, March 24 The Tonkawa Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas Annual Online Tree sale is ongoing and can be accessed on the npsotcentx. org website. The sale includes a large variety of shade and pollinator trees in 3 gallon and 5 gallon. This year’s sale includes a number of very hard to find natives such as native pecan, Blackgum, Hornbeam, and Texas Persimmon along with Live Oak, Lacey Oak, Burr Oak, Texas Red Buds and more.
