Sheriff’s Office personnel to begin wearing masks for protection

Milam County Sheriff’s Office personnel will be wearing masks for additional protection against the COVID-19 Pandemic. At right is a photo of the different mask styles you may see a deputy wearing as they respond to calls throughout the county. Sheriff Chris White said their use of a face mask is for your protection as well as their own. This additional protection is needed due to the constant risk deputies are exposed to during this crisis. White said the Sheriff’s Office has only received a few disposable masks from the State and have had to ration and reserve those masks for use with known “risk” situations or calls. As of today however, we are able to implement utilizing protective face masks full-time due to donations from Mask Makers here in Milam County and the delivery of 3M 6000 Series Respirators which he ordered back in mid-March.
