MCT set for ‘Steel Magnolias’

Milam Community Theater will present “Steel Magnolias” in May.

The play is a comedy-drama about the bond between a group of southern women in northwest Louisiana. The title suggests that the women are as delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel. The play takes place in Truvy’s beauty salon where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done.

Performances will be Saturday, May 8, at 7 p.m. Reservations only for dinner theater. Meal is $20 and tickets are $18. Call (254) 482-1575 for reservations for the May 8 performance. Wine and cheese reception at 6 p.m., followed by meal and play which begins at 7 p.m. Reservations must be made by May 3, 2021. Limited seating.

Other performances will be Sunday, May 9, at 2 p.m.; Saturday, May 15, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at the
