MCJLS concludes with premium sale

The 2021 Milam County Junior Livestock Show completed another successful year last weekend. The show concluded with the premium livestock sale on Saturday night. The total money raised for projects was approximately $224,225 with added money still coming in. 

The Grand Champion steer was exhibited by Kennedy Hobbs of the Thorndale 4-H. It sold for $15,000 to Century Farms Trading, Stoney’s, D&D Farms, Livestock Nutrition Center, Milam County Livestock and Little River Youth Supporters.

The Grand Champion swine was exhibited by Jenna Lindig of the Thorndale FFA. It was sold for $5,100 to Rockdale Country Ford, Milam County Livestock and Little River Youth Supporters. Lindig also exhibited the Grand Champion Goat but was only allowed to sell one animal.

The Grand Champion lamb was exhibited by Hadley Meadors of the Thorndale FFA. It sold for $3,000 to Little River Youth Supporters.

The Grand Champion broilers were exhibited by Gabriel Ramthun of the Thorndale FFA. They were sold for $1,500 to Milam County Livestock. 

The Grand Champion rabbits were exhibited by Connor Barton of the Cameron FFA. They sold for $2,300 to Ross Watson.

The Grand Champion turkey was exhibited by Hayes Berry of the Cameron 4-H. It was sold for $2,700 to Mine Services, Standards Home Health and Rockdale Federal Credit Union.

The Reserve Champion steer was exhibited by Kenzie Hobbs of the Thorndale 4-H. It was sold for $10,000 to D&D Farms, Rockdale Country Ford, Darin Biar and Little River Youth Supporters.

The Reserve Champion swine was exhibited by Kloie Cargill of the Thorndale FFA. It was sold for $3,000 Little River Youth Supporters.

The Reserve Champion lamb was exhibited by Kale Meadors of the Thorndale FFA. It was sold for $2,900 to Classic Bank and Little River Youth Supporters.

The Reserve Champion broilers were exhibited by Cheyenne Stevenson of Thorndale 4-H. They were sold for $1,100 to Ideal Poultry.

The Reserve Champion rabbits were exhibited by Brady Barton of the Cameron 4-H. They were sold for $2,900 to Citizens National Bank – Cameron.

The Reserve Champion turkey was exhibited by Lyndon Stifflemire of the Cameron 4-H. It was sold for $1,700 to Kenny and Heather Mingus family and Little River Youth Supporters.

The Reserve Champion goat was exhibited by Kyrene Jackson of the Thorndale 4-H. It sold for $2,600 to Watson Legal PC.
